The small-group ministry at Kings Point is the heart of its ministry. Since September 2003, Kings Point has pastored its members through small groups meeting throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. Led by a mature and trained Kings Point believer, the groups meet weekly in homes, classrooms, at businesses, or at any other convenient location. The weekly small-group meetings include relevant teachings in which the Word of God is shared in a simple and practical way. The groups also serve an evangelistic purpose, since members are encouraged to bring lost friends and relatives with them to the meetings. In the small-group format, members find an intimate setting where they can grow in their relationships with both God and other people.

The goal of the small groups is to help each member grow to his or her fullest potential in Christ. Hundreds have shared how Kings Point's small groups have blessed their lives and enriched their relationships. The bottom line is that small groups are all about life and community as they become the eyes, ears, mouth, and hands of Jesus. If you have never attended a small group and need help in finding one, call 513-494-1896, or click on Contact Us.

What is an Encounter?

We believe that the first step in becoming a disciple is to be "free indeed." Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:31-32 NIV).

An Encounter Retreat is a weekend short course in freedom - freedom from habits, bondages, bitterness, wrong thoughts, and past mistakes. At the Encounter, the Lord will set you free through the power of the cross.

Who will be there?

Each Encounter is led by a Kings Point leader or staff member with a group of trained assistants. Men attend Ironman Encounters, and women attend First Lady Encounters. Youth and Children's Encounters are not gender-specific.

Where is the Encounter Retreat held?

Women and Youth Encounters are held at the Higher Ground Retreat Center in West Harrison, Indiana. Men and Children's Encounters are held at the Church of God campgrounds in Morrow, Ohio. Participants will be informed in advance concerning the exact location for their specific retreat.

What is the schedule for the Encounter?

Encounters generally run from a Friday evening until noon the following Sunday. Participants arrive at the designated retreat location by 6:30 p.m. Friday for registration, room assignments (if applicable), and the opening session and activities. Sessions continue throughout Saturday and until service time on Sunday. At that time, participants join the weekend service at the Kings Point. After the service, participants return home.
